FLIMSY FACE   video-performance

I have a longtime time relation with spiders. I have observed, and studied them not as a scientist, but as an artist-naturalist. Spiders are magnificent creatures, they are the real acrobats of life as they have evolved to live and survive in over ground conditions. Somehow, I assume they express on air the motionless of trees in soil. The spider web looks so similar to the growth rings of trees.

As they use to seat in the middle of their web, on their backs they carry strange motives of camouflage. I have repeatedly attempted to observe them but those shapes obstructed my eyes to concentrate on them. I couldn’t watch them, so I came to the point to realize that the spider backs depict the invisible.

In this project I came to a close touch with them as my face knitted with their bodies and the web, and my breath and whisper intensively maximized the contact. The whole interaction occurred along with flying birds clucking above my head, and trees hugging me silently.
